How to read this table

  1. An element is an irreducible business function — the smallest unit of work that can be assigned to an agent, a human, or a human–agent pair.
  2. Element Zero is the Orchestrator. It carries no number because it isn't a function of the business — it's the thing that runs all of them: decomposing goals into element-tagged tasks, routing work between agents and humans, and escalating to judgment. Like the neutron, it sits outside the numbered elements yet binds the whole table together.
  3. Atomic number = build sequence. The order in which an autonomous company assembles itself, from №1 Demand Validation (the hydrogen of business — everything begins here) to №118.
  4. Rows (periods) = company stage. Functions activate outward like electron shells as the company grows: Genesis → Formation → First Revenue → Growth → Scale → Expansion → Enterprise.
  5. Columns (groups) = automation behavior. Left-side elements are reactive — they automate readily and completely. Group 18 is the noble column: judgment functions (vision, capital allocation, M&A, brand taste) that never fully react.
  6. Color = functional family. Twelve families, from Demand & Growth to Executive Judgment.
  7. The small number (top right) is the Autonomy Level, on the 1–5 scale everyone knows from self-driving: L1 Assist (agent suggests), L2 Copilot (human approves each action), L3 Conditional (agent runs it, human handles escalations), L4 High (agent runs end-to-end within authority limits, human audits), L5 Full (no routine human involvement). It's the table's equivalent of atomic weight — and it only goes up.
  8. Two special series sit below. The Physical Operations series (89–103) is robotics-gated. The Governance series (104–118) is the actinide row: automatable, but radioactive with liability — every output requires a human signature.
  9. Elements bond into molecules. Lg + Oo + Lq + Ms = a Pipeline molecule. Bk + Ap + Ar + Fc = a Back-Office molecule. Companies are built by composing molecules, not hiring departments.
  10. Vendors occupy regions, not squares. Toggle vendors above — solid badges mean the vendor runs the element natively; outlined badges mean platform reach. Gray cells are open territory: the elements Idealab.ai fills or brokers.

Vendor overlap matrix

Shared elements between each pair of vendors (native + reach combined). Diagonal = total footprint. Unique = elements no other vendor on this board covers. Conflicts = total pairwise overlap instances. Dots are zero — and zeroes are exactly what you want in a partner roster.
